Funeral music of Queen Mary
Man that is born of a woman hath but a short
time to live, and is full of misery. He cometh, up
and is cut down like a flow’r; he flee’th as it were
a shadow, and ne’er continueth in one stay.

In the midst of life we are in death: of whom may
we seek for succor, but of thee, O Lord, who for
our sins art justly displeased. Yet, O Lord, most
mighty, O holy and most merciful Saviour,
deliver us not into the bitter pains of eternal
death.

Thou knowest, Lord, the secrets of our hearts:
shut not thy merciful ears unto our pray’rs, but
spare us, Lord most holy, O God most mighty, O
holy and most merciful Saviour, thou most
worthy judge eternal. Suffer us not at our last
hour for any pains of death to fall from thee.

cierres tu misericordiosos oídos a nuestras plegarias,

Remember not, Lord, our offences
Remember not, Lord, our offences, not
th’offences of our forefathers; neither take thou
vengeance of our sins, but spare us, good Lord,
spare thy people whom thou hast redeem’d with
thy most precious blood, and be not angry with
us forever. Spare us good Lord.

siempre. Perdónanos buen Señor.

Hear my Prayer, O Lord
Hear my prayer, O Lord,
and let my crying come unto thee.

Escucha mi oración, O Señor,
y deja que mi llanto llegue a ti.

Bid the Virtues
Bid the Virtues, bid the Graces
To the sacred shrine repair.
Round the altar take their places
Blessings with returns of pray’r,
Their great defender’s care,
While Maria royal zeal
Best instructs you how to pray
Hourly from her own conversing
With the Eternal Throne.

nunc videbitis turbam,
quae circum dabit me
vos fugam capietis,
et ego vadam immolari pro vobis.
Popule meus
quid feci tibi?
aut quid molestus fui tibi?
Responde mihi.

Mi alma está triste
hasta la muerte:
quédense aquí, y vigílenme:
pronto verán una turba,
que me rodeará
ustedes huirán cuando me capturen,
y yo me sacrificaré por ustedes.
Pueblo mío
¿qué les he hecho?
¿o con qué los he molestado?
Respóndanme.

Quia respexit
Quia respexit humilitatem ancillae suae,
ecce enim ex hoc beatam me dicent

Porque miró la humildad de su sierva,
me llamarán bienaventurada
todas las generaciones.
